County, neighbors urge fix of asbestos By The Associated Press CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Prompted by neighbors' concerns, Laramie County has written to state regulators urging action to clean up a vacant lot that holds asbestos. But the state says it doesn't see a problem. Residents on Lupe Road in Laramie County say they're concerned that horses on the vacant lot are kicking up dust that could carry potentially harmful asbestos into the neighborhood. Mark Voss, deputy Laramie County attorney, said the county has conducted testing on the site and has "fairly direct" evidence that there's hazardous material there. But Voss said that only the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality could determine whether the material poses a health hazard by entering onto the property.
